Our in-house portfolio of services, including overhead and underground transmission engineering, substation and switchyard design, protection, automation & communication systems, industrial power systems design, land survey and construction staking, right-of-way services, environmental planning, project management, construction management, and procurement services have provided a key resource for hundreds of utilities. ECI ranks among the largest power delivery engineering firms in North America. We bring comprehensive experience in power delivery services through 500 kV to our clients.

2000 – EPC Services Company
ECI’s wholly owned subsidiary, EPC Services Company (EPCS), was formed in 2000 to provide a professional based Project Management/EPC firm to handle the demand for utility and independent power delivery projects having ever shorter times for completion. EPC Services Company now focuses on traditional utility projects as well as major renewable project developments.
2019 – Industrial Automation Consulting
ECI acquired Industrial Automation Consulting (IAC), a turnkey automation engineering and information management firm, expanding our Industrial Services offerings and enhancing capabilities in real‑time control system integration.
2019 – Relay Application Innovation
ECI acquired Relay Application Innovation (RAI), expanding our capabilities in system protection design, integration, protection settings, customized software and hardware solutions, and field commissioning across all levels of the protection field.
2020 – Casco Systems
ECI acquired Casco Systems, headquartered in Cumberland, Maine, strengthening our capabilities in IEC 61850 design, integration, protection, and cybersecurity. This acquisition enhanced our ability to serve a wide range of utility and energy customers with advanced protection and control solutions.
2024 – PS Technologies Inc.
ECI acquired PS Technologies Inc. (PSTI), headquartered in Calgary, Alberta, marking our first international acquisition. This acquisition expanded our system protection and high‑voltage design capabilities and strengthened our ability to serve utility clients across Alberta and Western Canada.
2024 – Electro-Test & Maintenance
EPC Services Company, a subsidiary of ECI, acquired Electro‑Test & Maintenance (ETMI), headquartered in Rapid City, South Dakota. This acquisition expanded our utility maintenance, commissioning, equipment testing, and transformer service capabilities, strengthening support for electric utilities across the Western U.S.
2025 – TRANSCO.ENERGY, LLC
TransCo.Energy, LLC joins ECI, bringing its power system analysis and technical expertise from Tempe, AZ. This partnership strengthens ECI’s capabilities in system planning, operations, interconnection support, and transmission development up to 500 kV across the Southwest U.S.
