Meet one of our newest strategic hires at EPC Services – Richard Steiner, EPCS’ Branch Manager of Testing Services!

Richard comes to EPC Services with 35 years of prior EPC experience, focusing on testing, commissioning, and maintenance work for the last 15 years. “With many changes occurring in the electrical testing and maintenance market, it’s difficult to find a company that embodies the professionalism that EPCS demonstrates,” Richard said. “I found myself working for a company that no longer defined their values the way that I did. After thorough research, I deduced that the high customer preference that EPCS enjoys is evidence of the values we share.”

Richard is based out of EPCS’ Columbus, Ohio office, where he’s establishing a strong EPC base in the Eastern United States. “Initially, I want to understand how EPCS conducts business, get familiar with the processes, and take responsibility for the testing operations in the Eastern Region,” said Richard. “Then, I’d like to grow the Columbus Branch Testing capabilities to reliable and sustainable levels.” Working alongside Greg Gibbs, Vice President – Eastern Operations, Richard is ready for the opportunities – and challenges – presented with building up a new team. “I love what I do. Solving problems is what I enjoy most. Whether it’s an electrical problem or a business problem, I methodically work through the situation, develop solutions, and consider their implications to define the need.”

Overall, “I’m excited about this opportunity to build a team, from experienced mentors to up and coming technicians,” said Richard. “The right team will maximize our business opportunities in the EPC marketplace.”

In his free time, Richard spends time with his family or on home improvement projects. “My faith is very important to me too,” said Richard. “I do enjoy studying electrical history, including the great electrician philosophers of the past whose work our profession is built on.”
