Construction Paralegal

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Help evaluate, direct, implement, and monitor policies and procedures related to the Company’s contract administration and other related legal / risk management responsibilities
  • Draft, review, analyze and assist in the negotiation of contracts and subcontracts
  • Maintain, update and organize standard contracts and other forms related to the construction industry
  • Review other contract-related documents, including subcontractor insurance certificates for compliance with subcontract requirements and follow up as required with subcontractors and their agents / brokers in the event of non-compliance
  • Assist with licensing and other corporate compliance requirements
  • Assist with the preparation of project-specific subcontract documents and forms

Minimum Requirements:  Bachelor’s degree in business or related field required, paralegal certificate preferred; a minimum of 2 years’ experience  reviewing, drafting, and administering contracts or similar legal experience required, construction experience a plus; knowledge of contracts, best practices and implications/objectives/ramifications of contractual provisions.  Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast paced environment; ability to work independently with minimal guidance  and collaborate with a variety of internal and external contacts on multiple projects. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word and Excel) and Adobe or Bluebeam. The successful applicant will be an individual with excellent organization skills and passion for details; excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong analytical skills. The successful applicant must meet ECI’s auto insurance carrier requirements and may be subject to client mandated drug and background checking.
