This position will encompass a variety of CAD drafting assignments including development of general arrangements, elevations, grounding plans, conduit plans, bus details, and preparation of bill of materials for substation, wind, solar and energy storage projects as well as schematics and wiring diagrams based on guidance from the project engineer.
Minimum Requirements: An accredited associate degree in drafting technology or equivalent required; 3+ years’ of electric substation design experience, including schematics, wiring diagrams, physical layout and facility design required. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing electrical and physical design work for electrical substations ranging from 4 kV to 500 kV. Must be proficient in AutoCAD and possess a strong computer aptitude in a Windows environment. MicroStation experience is a plus. Qualified candidate must demonstrate a desire to learn and excel in design drafting and must work effectively and cooperatively within a team environment. Experience with AutoDesk Inventor a plus. The successful applicant may be subject to client mandated drug and background checking. Occasional travel/driving will be required.
