Additional responsibilities include SCADA system design and integration on new and existing substations on systems up to 345 kV, working with all parties involved with SCADA and communications related planning, infrastructure, devices, protocols, ISO requirements, and overall integration and implementing custom systems using IEC 61131-3 structured text programming as well as DNP3, Modbus, SEL, 61850 and OPC SCADA protocols. This position will also be responsible for frequently acting as the lead SCADA interface to clients externally as well as ECI project managers internally. Occasional travel for conducing onsite SCADA commissioning as well as potential client meetings required.
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor of Science or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, 10+ years’ project engineering experience, or an acceptable combination of education and experience; experience with renewable plant PPC operation, voltage/VAR control systems their design, implementation, and testing; system integration experience with Wind, Solar, and BESS resources as well as hybrid plant setups; familiar and comfortable with implementing a variety of system topologies, RTU/Data Concentrator/PLC hardware; excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong organization and planning skills; commitment to quality and accuracy; and a willingness and ability to meet fast-paced project schedules. A PE license is preferred. The successful applicant must have an advanced knowledge of power engineering principals, be expert regarding applicable codes, standards and design tools, and have the ability to direct and oversee multiple technical disciplines in completion of substation projects. The successful applicant may be subject to client-mandated drug and background checking. Occasional travel/driving is required; therefore, the successful applicant will be subject to ECI’s auto insurance carrier requirements.
