Substation Designer – San Diego

San Diego, CA

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to performing substation electrical and physical design work and, when required, drafting for assigned projects; support other projects as required; resolution of AutoCAD software operating issues; establishing AutoCAD environments per client requirements.

Minimum Requirements: College degree or two year technical certificate in computer-aided drafting/design and a minimum of 15 years of computer-aided drafting and designer experience required. The successful candidate must possess advanced computer skills and be an expert in the use, operation and maintenance of AutoCAD. A sound operating knowledge of MicroStation is preferred. Must have proven effective verbal and written communication skills. The successful candidate must be results oriented and capable of completing design assignments with minimal direction and must be effective in a team environment with strong interpersonal skills and have the ability to interface with team members and clients. This position requires a strong work ethic with attention to detail, quality, schedule and budget. Occasional travel/driving may be required.
