Electrical Consultants, Inc., a leading power engineering consultant firm, has an immediate opening for an experienced substation project engineer in Fairfield, OH and Madison, WI.

Responsibilities include preparation of physical and electrical substation project design and documents and support of the design of major station projects throughout the country; multi-office coordination, estimating and scheduling of activities related to station design work; project design drawings including general arrangement plans, conduit, cabling, fencing, grounding and control building layouts as well as wiring diagrams and schematics and the contracts and specifications to support procurement and construction of these types of facilities.

Minimum Requirements: BSEE, 6+ years’ design and project engineering experience or combination of education and experience; excellent communication, organizational and writing skills a must; PE preferred but not required. The successful applicant must have an advanced knowledge of project engineering (power-side) principles, knowledge of all applicable codes, project management techniques, and the ability to oversee other personnel on a project and possibly a permanent basis. Experience in utility or merchant power industry is a plus. Successful applicant may be subject to client mandated drug and background checking. Occasional travel/driving may be requested. Successful applicant is subject to ECI’s auto insurance carrier requirements. Applicants must not require sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B visa status) now or in the future.
