Responsibilities include but are not limited to autonomous QA/QC responsibility in substation physical and relay and control engineering; managing groups of engineers, technicians and other project support team members of various sizes; primary responsibility for project budgets and schedules, and the impact of project performance on ECI’s overall firm performance; engineering/technical guidance in the identification, analysis and resolution of problems; effective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling, monitoring and managing work activities of a team; thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations and sketches. Opportunities for advancement to Engineering Manager role would exist in the near term pending continued workload and office growth.
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor of Science or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, 10+ years’ project and design engineering experience, or an acceptable combination of education and experience; excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong organization and planning skills; ability to work in a team environment; commitment to quality and accuracy; and a willingness to meet fast-paced project schedules. Advanced knowledge of both substation physical / electrical design as well as relay and control systems required; experience acting in a project management role for substation projects is a plus. A PE license or the ability to obtain one in the first year of employment is highly preferred. The successful applicant must have an advanced knowledge of power engineering principals, be expert regarding applicable codes, standards and design tools, possess basic project management execution skills, and have the ability to oversee and direct design personnel on a project team. Experience in utility or merchant power industry a plus. The successful applicant may be subject to client-mandated drug and background checking. Occasional travel/driving is required; therefore, the successful applicant will be subject to ECI’s auto insurance carrier requirements.
