PROJECT COMPLETION: Blooming Grove Wind Energy Center

March 15, 2021

Blooming Grove for a blooming spring – what a great way to start the season! ECI is excited to announce that Invenergy’s Blooming Grove Wind Energy Center is officially in commercial operation! This 250-megawatt wind facility is located in McLean County, Illinois. Invenergy estimates that Blooming Grove generates enough renewable energy to power 69,000 homes.

ECI partnered with Invenergy on this project to provide engineering designs for Blooming Grove’s 34.5-345 kV substation, the associated collection system, and 4.5 miles of transmission line! Our work helps take the wind energy produced and send it along to the customers of central Illinois. As always, we’ve had a great time partnering with our friends at Invenergy to accomplish this project. Take a moment to look through some pictures of this new facility. Congratulations to the team members at ECI and Invenergy for Blooming Grove’s success!
