Chestnut Solar Project is a 75-megawatt solar facility located in North Carolina. ECI’s scope of work on this facility involved the E-P-C build of the 115/34.5 kV Chestnut Substation, which includes one (1) 115 kV PCB, three (3) 115 kV CVTs and one (1) 138 kV air disconnect switch. The secondary equipment includes one (1) 34.5 kV disconnect switch and two (2) feeder breakers, each of which will be equipped with a 34.5 kV breaker and hook operated disconnect switches.
Control building facilities include AC/DC electrical power system including one (1) 125-volt DC battery in compliance with Dominion standards with a separate battery room and divided area for communications equipment. The project is turn-key with EPC Services providing all labor and material to construct the substation and subsequent testing and commissioning to provide a complete and functional substation for the Chestnut Solar Project.
