ECI was asked to provide Green Mountain Power (GMP) with a complete automation upgrade of their 3 Unit site. The existing control system was obsolete and had completely failed. The solution was to upgrade the control system, leaving the switchgear and field devices intact.

ECI provided GMP with the engineering services to replace the control system, provide local and remote machine condition monitoring, supervisory control, alarming and water level management. This included the replacement of the Main Control Panel (MCP) and associated contents, PLC and HMI development, speed controllers, metering, RTU and networking equipment. The project also included installation and commissioning of the new control system. Programming of the PLC and HMI was based on ECI standard hydroelectric templates.
