Happy 2021 Global Wind Day from ECI and EPCS!
Wind’s rapidly becoming a popular power option across the United States – in fact, in 2020, more wind power was installed in the United States than any other year in history.[1] But wind’s not a new power option – not globally, at least. Did you know that, as early as 5,000 B.C., humans have been using wind power to propel boats?[2]
We’ve come a long way from the small-scale wind operations of the past. Today, we’re using wind to power thousands of homes and businesses. ECI and EPCS helps take the wind power produced and put it to use by designing and building high voltage substations, transmission lines, and collector systems so wind energy can be transferred to customers. To date, we’re proud to have worked on over 200 wind projects throughout the United States. This Global Wind Day, we’re reflecting on the exciting work we’ve done, and the bright future wind energy has in the United States. See the video below for a map of our wind work!
