Expansion & Acquisitions

Our team is thriving and growing as we seek to better serve our customers through expansion and acquisitions.

2000 – EPC Services Company

ECI’s wholly owned subsidiary, EPC Services Company (EPCS), was formed in 2000 to provide a professional based Project Management/EPC firm to handle the demand for utility and independent power delivery projects having ever shorter times for completion. EPC Services Company now focuses on traditional utility projects as well as major renewable project developments.

2019 – Industrial Automation Consulting

In the spring of 2019, ECI acquired Industrial Automation Consulting (IAC), a small “Turnkey Systems House” providing all aspects of automation engineering and information management. The services provided by IAC closely align with ECI’s Industrial Services group, expanding our industrial design service which provides the integration of real-time control and information systems.

2019 – Relay Application Innovation

In the fall of 2019, ECI acquired Relay Application Innovation (RAI) bringing significant strength to our capabilities in system protection design and integration. This widens our available breadth of service in system protection design, integration, protection settings, customized software and hardware, as well as field commissioning at all levels of the protection field.

2020 – Casco Systems

In the winter of 2020, ECI acquired Casco Systems headquartered in Cumberland, Maine. Casco brings deep industry-leading IEC-61850 design, integration, protection, and cyber security expertise to benefit ECI’s wide range of utility and energy customers.

2024 – PS Technologies Inc.

In the summer of 2024, ECI acquired PS Technologies headquartered in Calgary, Alberta. As the first international acquisition for ECI, PSTI brings decades of system protection and high voltage design expertise to clients spanning Alberta and Western Canada.

2024 – Electro-Test & Maintenance

In the fall of 2024, EPC Services Company, a subsidiary of ECI, acquired Electro-Test & Maintenance headquartered in Rapid City, South Dakota. ETMI provides crucial utility maintenance and commissioning services to regional electric utilities along with equipment testing and transformer services throughout the Western U.S.
