Fish Springs is a solar facility located in Washoe, Nevada. NextEra is adding 25MW/100 MWh of BESS facilities to the site. The BESS consists of Sabre containers with Samsung lithium ion batteries; inverters are Power Electronics 3.55 MVA. ECI was responsible for BESS yard layout, electrical studies, complete civil, electrical and P&C engineering, as well as relay settings.

ECI is provided all electrical and civil and structural engineering related to the BESS interconnection at Fish Springs connection substation. The BESS connects to the Fish Springs Substation, and the point of interconnection (POI) is at the 345 kV gen-tie line bay at the NVE Sage Switchyard. One 34.5 kV homerun from the BESS transformers connect to one 34.5 kV feeder bay at Fish Springs Substation. Fish Springs is adjacent to a new PV solar project also designed by ECI.
