The Springfield Battery Energy Storage System is located in Windsor County, northwest of Springfield, Vermont. This Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) helps to provide backup and reliability to ISO-NE while helping to cut costs and carbon for all customers.

Springfield is a 5 MW, 2 hr., battery facility that interconnects to the N. Springfield Substation via the 12.47 kV distribution circuit. Springfield began commercial operation in Q2 of 2023. The primary use is for aggregated regulating services in the ISO New England Market.

ECI was the consulting engineer for complete electrical and structural design.
