The Station 122 project consisted of expanding the substation’s 345kV yard, installing (3) 448MVA 345/115kV transformers and replacing the entire 115kV yard with gas insulated switchgear. ECI’s scope of work involved developing protection settings and integration of the 115kV portion of this large project.
ECI was responsible for developing the Substation Automation System using CIMPLICITY for the local Station HMI and an SEL-3555 RTAC for the RTU. ECI led development and programming of all IEC-61850 aspects for the entire station.
ECI was also responsible for programming of (15) SEL Axion automation control devices for monitoring and control of the new 115kV Gas Insulated Switchgear. ECI engineers lead the commissioning efforts for testing the GIS controllers, verifying the HMI platform and testing the equipment with EMS/SCADA.
