System Reliability & Compliance

ECI/EPCS provided the design, construction, and testing of the new collection substation and transmission line for Sunflower Wind. ECI’s scope included full North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) compliance reports consisting of Facility Ratings and Disturbance Monitoring and Reporting Requirements among others.

Sunflower Wind Substation was built for a new wind generation facility. Sunflower Wind Substation includes two (2) Main Power Transformers (MPTs) and connects to the 345kV transmission system. The transmission line carries the generation from the wind farm to the Point of Interconnection (POI), which combines power from seventy-six (76) Wind Turbine Generators (WTGs). The gross generation is 214.32 MW at the POI.
