The Sunshine Valley Solar Project is a 100 MW solar farm located in southern Nevada. ECI was contracted to execute the design and build of the farm’s substation and gen-tie. ECI completed all engineering design while ECI’s subsidiary, EPC Services Company (EPCS), completed all construction and testing, ensuring all services for the project are completed in-house.
All engineering support during construction, project management, construction management, meetings, coordination and testing and commissioning was led by ECI/EPCS. The project consisted of the design of 2 feeder bays, 35/138 kV 106mVA transformer, and a 138 kV line breaker. Additionally, ECI designed and built approximately 0.55 miles of 138 kV transmission line with 600 feet of 138 kV underground cable.
EPC Services had representatives at the project site through all phases of construction to manage self-performed and contract work, materials receiving, safety management and other required duties. Our Field Construction Manager was responsible for daily meetings with subcontractors, as well as with First Solar personnel weekly. EPC Services provided all electrical testing and commissioning with in-house resources for the Sunshine Valley Solar Project Substation in accordance with industry standard procedures.
