ECI has provided engineering design support for all three phases of the Yellow Pine Battery Energy Storage System.
For Yellow Pine II, ECI provided the engineering design of an 85 MW/340 MWh Battery Energy Storage System. The point of interconnect voltage was 230 kV/34.5 kV.
The BESS connects via a 34.5 kV collection system, which ECI had engineered during Phase 1 of the project. This energy storage project utilizes BYD battery modules and Power Electronics 4.2 MVA Inverters. ECI was responsible for the storage yard layout, complete engineering services including structural and relay settings, and electrical studies.
Yellow Pine III BESS included engineering design for a 225 MW/900 MWh facility. The BESS is connected to the 34.5 kV collection system at the Yellow Pine III collector substation. There are 76 Power Electronics GEN 3 inverters and 225 5.4 MWh BYD cubes with 10 racks/cube. ECI performed the complete engineering design for the BESS system including civil, electrical, and all studies.
