ECI/EPCS provided the design, construction, and testing of the new Silver Springs collection substation for the Daggett Solar Project (Phase I). ECI’s scope included full North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) reports consisting of Frequency and Voltage Protection Settings for Generating Resources and Coordination of Protection Systems for Performance During Faults among others. The new facility interconnects to the 230 kV system at the Point of Interconnection (POI). Silver Springs Substation also has a 230 kV line connected to Cumberland Solar Facility (Phase II). The Silver Springs Substation consists of one 230 kV bus connected to two 34.5 kV busses via two (2) Main Power Transformers (MPTs).
- Silver Springs collection substation is designed for a hybrid solar/BESS facility.
- Silver Springs collection substation is Phase I of II for the Daggett Solar Project.
