The Georgia Ballard Battery Energy Storage System is located in Franklin County, about 20 miles north of Burlington, VT.

This Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) helps to provide backup and reliability to ISO-NE while helping to cut costs and carbon for all customers.

Georgia Ballard is a 5 MW, 2 hr., battery facility that interconnects to the Georgia Substation via the 12.47 kV distribution circuit.  Georgia Ballard began commercial operation in Q2 of 2023. The primary use is for aggregated regulating services in the ISO New England Market.
