ECI offers a comprehensive suite of system protection services, leveraging extensive experience across the full voltage spectrum from 765 kV transmission to 4 kV distribution, and all types of generation. Our Protection Team has designed protection systems for a wide range of equipment and configurations, including static and dynamic VAR devices, transformers, breakers, and various bus arrangements such as straight, double breaker, break-and-a-half, and ring bus.

ECI’s transmission protection expertise spans complex scenarios like series compensation, line end reactors, and multi-terminal lines, while our distribution experience includes overcurrent and distance relay protection for both looped and radial systems. Our generation experience spans hydro, solar, wind, nuclear, coal, combined cycle, BESS, and natural gas.

ECI engineers have configured thousands of relays from major manufacturers such as SEL, GE, and Siemens, across all relay technologies—from electromechanical to fully digital microprocessor-based systems. Our projects range from simple standalone setups to advanced communication schemes using protocols like 87L, POTT, DCB, DCUB, DUTT, and IEC 61850 GOOSE & Sampled Values.
